CAITLIN JEMMA & THE GOODNESS

Caitlin Jemma is a small-town girl with a big country heart. Raised in the high desert of Northern Nevada, her songwriting is influenced by a sense of adventure, reverie, and discovery. With a sound tempered by country and delivered with soul, Caitlin Jemma brings a wholesome and enlivened energy to the deep-rooted traditions of storytelling folk. Jemma’s sweet and salty twang has earned comparisons to a young Iris Dement, with echoes of Gillian Welch & Valerie June. Whether performing solo or with her band, The Goodness, Jemma’s dynamic sound, timeless songwriting, & playful stage presence is captivating audiences everywhere from her Pacific Northwest home to Europe.

DAVID SHEINGOLD

With a voice echoing Jeff Buckley, the arrangement dexterity of Nick Drake, and the explorative spirit of Thom Yorke, David Sheingold is poised to make his mark on the music world.  2016 was a big year for David. Having toured and recorded with members of R.E.M., The Posies, and Gregory Alan Isakov, Sheingold performed at a KEXP-sponsored concert, appeared on stage at eTown, and saw his mesmerizing debut album, Aquarian Dream, featured as Album of the Day on iTunes. Embarking on his 3rd American tour this spring, David Sheingold exhibits a remarkable enthusiasm for creative expression, passionate showmanship, and the genuine desire to connect with appreciative audiences everywhere.

The Heartstring Hunters

Nominated by Denver Westword for Best Folk Band, The Heartstring Hunters are currently touring throughout Colorado and the West, sharing stages with artists such as The Leftover Cuties, Karla Bonoff, SHEL, and The Good Lovelies. They have played the Telluride MountainFilm Fest, The Boulder Theater, and the TedX conferences in Denver, though you’re just as likely to find them spontaneously entertaining crowds at farmer’s markets and street fairs all over the state. All east-coasters originally, it was the power of connection and a love for music that led them from the forests of Vermont, the rivers of Virginia, and the beaches of Florida all the way to the rockies to produce a sound that invites you into a musical conversation between friends, an adventure that dances between the space of the open road and a midnight sky.

Leaders of the Heart: A concert by Ellen Pierce
Jun 25 @ 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm

Gratitude and inspiration are found through sharing our unique gifts in the wold. The Leaders of the Heart concert at Shine marks a very special day for Ellen Pierce & The Warm Honeys. We will LAUNCH our Kickstarter campaign for the 1 hour Leaders of the Heart Video Album. Just like my shows, the album is a resource anyone can use to overcome fear and break apart limitations. Through sharing what I love, singing my songs to you, intention setting, and guided visualization, we transform together.

UN-Glue Talk with Dave Booda: Questioning Happily Ever After
Jun 27 @ 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm

JOIN US FOR OUR INAUGURAL UN-GLUE TALK:

QUESTIONING HAPPILY EVER AFTER WITH DAVE BOODA

A Glue Talk is a unique community conversation and film screening about relationships, pairing relevant and curated Global Glue Project films with a talk by a relationship expert. Global Glue films share couples’ candid wisdom on sticking together and have an unparalleled ability to open viewers resulting in thought provoking conversations and reflection.

Global Glue is love’s conservation effort, we aim to help couples stick together—but what if there’s more to the story? What if sometimes instead of trying to stick together we should consider the wisdom of consciously un-coupling? What if longevity isn’t always the best measure of a successful relationship?

What if happily ever after… well… isn’t?

Welcome to the first ever “un-glue” talk — beacuse these topics are important, and not always given enough of voice in today’s culture. Why do we cling to relationships that aren’t working? How can we embrace the death of a relationship in a way that actually gives it life?

These topics have been especially relevant for our speaker Dave Booda. Dave and his ex-wife Paula were together for 4 adventurous years, and we interviewed them at Burning Man (of course) back in 2015.

Dave and Paula explored everything from living together in a tantric community, polyamory and co-founding a festival called IntimacyFest, which is still running in Southern California each year.

Dave will also be performing his music — which is a treat by itself. His music career has led him to play over 1000 shows across the country and lately he has created an alter-ego named Boodananda, who is a spiritually satirical kirtan singer hilariously poking fun at sacred music and new age self-righteousness.

QUOTES FROM PAST GLUE TALK ATTENDEES:

“I really LOVED these events. There’s a certain energy that is created with these Glue Talks and I would love to see that supported and grow in the community.”

“Thank you for making this happen. I came away with a nugget of information from every talk that I attended.”

“You’ve done a beautiful job of the films and the talk series. Thank you so much. Your work brings tremendous value to the world. We really enjoyed this! We’re so glad we went to them. We’d come again and bring our friends.”

“I really LOVED these talks and videos. I agree that relationship deserves to be preserved and the knowledge handed down. When learning other skills, we go to school or, in some cases, have the opportunity to learn from someone knowledgeable in our environment. There is no similar widespread, incorporated resource for learning about relationships. It can be hard to learn about relationship from a book; we need role models that we can see and hear. Mentors are important and particularly so for learning to be in relationship. Global Glue is promoting all of this and more.”

SCHEDULE:

Doors open at 7:00, program starts at 7:30, with a short film screening, followed by discussion, followed by Dave’s live music.

If possible, please arrive on time.

Feel free to order dinner or drinks during the talk, or come early for dinner.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Nope, although we would consider these “adult” events. Use your discretion.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

SHINE is in downtown Boulder. There are a few paid parking close by, but parking in Boulder can be less than pleasant, so we suggest leaving ample time to find parking.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

gillian@globalglueproject.com
